Rask Rask

So you’ve got a “To-do” list appearing in your Rask app? These are Tasks, and they are the engine room of your financial progress. You can manage them all from the Tasks dashboard.

What are tasks?

Tasks are specific actions required to move your financial plan forward. They might be for you (e.g., “Upload your latest tax return”) or for your adviser (e.g., “Review insurance quotes”).

How to complete a task

  1. Navigate to Tasks.
  2. Click on a task to see the full details and any instructions from your adviser.
  3. Once you’ve done the work, click the Mark as Complete button.
  4. Your adviser will be notified automatically, and the task will move to your “Completed” list.

Task types

  • Adviser Checklists: Standard steps your adviser follows during a review.
  • Client Actions: Things we need from you to keep things moving.
  • Milestones: Major achievements in your financial journey.

Adding files to a task

When you create a personal task (or open one assigned to you), you can attach files — bank statements, screenshots, supporting documents — directly to the task. Drop a file into the Attachments area, or use Choose files. Anything you attach is stored privately in your secure document vault and only visible to you and the staff working on your file.

Repeating tasks

Some things come back every year (Notice of Intent for super contributions), every quarter (BAS reminders), or every month (a regular review). When you create or edit a task, set Repeat to Monthly, Quarterly, or Yearly — and a new task will appear automatically when you mark this one complete. Edits you make to the current task (title, notes, attachments) carry over to the next one. Look for the small ↻ badge on a task to see at a glance that it repeats.

Tips for staying on track

  • Due Dates: Keep an eye on the dates. Some tasks (like insurance applications) are time-sensitive.
  • Comments: If you’re stuck on a task, leave a comment directly on the task page so your adviser can help.
  • Notifications: Ensure your Notification preferences are set to alert you when new tasks are assigned.

Ask Rask AI to manage your list

The floating Ask Rask pill on /tasks can shape your personal to-do list for you. In plain English, ask it to:

  • Add a task (“add a task: call the broker about refinancing next Tuesday at high priority”)
  • Update a single field on an existing task — status, title, description, due date, priority, link, reminder offset, or recurrence
  • Mark a task as completed (for recurring tasks, Rask flags that completing it will spawn the next one)

Every change appears as a card you confirm before it saves. Rask AI only touches your personal tasks — adviser-assigned tasks are still managed manually. Read What Rask AI can change for the full surface, or What Rask AI deliberately won’t do for the boundaries.
