RaskRask

So you want to see your total financial position grow? The Net Wealth Tracker is your high-level scoreboard. It combines everything you own and everything you owe into one powerful number.

Getting started

The tracker works best when it has fresh data. Follow these steps to get an accurate view:

1. Connect your cash and portfolios

  • Go to Settings and connect your bank feeds and portfolio trackers (like Navexa).
  • Rask will automatically update your cash balances and investment values every day.

2. Add your “manual” assets

Not everything has a live feed. Choose Add on Net worth for a guided flow through the type, name, ownership and current value of an item. You can also manage these categories in your Fact Find:

  • Property: Your home or investment property values.
  • Vehicles: The current estimated value of your cars.
  • Superannuation: If your fund isn’t connected via a feed, update the balance manually once a quarter.

3. Record your debts

Ensure your mortgages, credit cards, and personal loans are listed. Rask subtracts these from your assets to calculate your true Net Worth.

For an asset and its secured debt, choose Both, linked to add them together. Enter the full asset value and the amount still owing separately. For a debt already tracked in Rask, select it in the linking step instead of creating it again. See wealth entities for more detail.

Using the tracker features

Explain today

Click the Explain today button at the top of the page. This opens a side panel that shows you exactly which “source” (e.g., a bank feed vs. a manual form entry) is being used for every single number in your total.

Editing history

Past values carry forward until your next dated value. Longer chart ranges show month-end snapshots. If a history update is still calculating, the chart shows progress and refreshes automatically when ready. Choose All time to include dates outside the five-year view.

For purchased assets, the history editor also shows Cost base is missing. Add it now? Record the purchase date and acquisition cost base in AUD. This stays separate from market value and does not calculate tax or change the chart. Property cost base and purchase date also appear in your live Fact Find. Keep detailed records for multiple purchases and later cost-base adjustments.

If you notice a “spike” or “drop” in your chart that doesn’t look right:

  1. Find the category (e.g., “Property”).
  2. Click Edit history.
  3. You can add a backdated value for a specific date. This is great for recording a property valuation from six months ago to make your growth chart more accurate.

Entity details

If you have complex structures (like a Trust or an SMSF), click Entity details. This breaks your net worth down by Tax Structure so you can see exactly where your wealth is held.

Tips for success

  • Monthly Check-in: Spend 5 minutes on the first of every month updating any manual balances.
  • Ignore the Noise: Don’t worry about small daily fluctuations in your portfolio. Focus on the Net worth over time trend line.
