Rask Rask

The Markets page is a dashboard that helps you:

  • Check what’s moving in markets (indices, currencies, commodities)
  • Discover the latest Rask research and podcasts
  • Search over 5,000 ASX and US shares and ETFs

Market pulse (indices, currencies, commodities)

At the top of the dashboard you’ll see Market Pulse tiles for key markets and instruments.

  • Indices: quick “up/down” indicators and daily percentage moves for major regions
  • Currencies: common FX pairs (e.g. AUD/USD, AUD/EUR)
  • Commodities: selected benchmarks (e.g. oil, gold)

If an item is temporarily unavailable, we’ll show placeholders while the rest of the dashboard continues to load.

Open instrument pages from Market pulse

You can click a Market Pulse tile to open a dedicated instrument page:

  • ASX market overview: opens /markets/asx
  • US market overview: opens /markets/us
  • FX pairs: opens /markets/fx/... (e.g. AUD/USD)
  • Commodities: opens /markets/commodities/... (e.g. Gold, Oil, Iron Ore)

These pages include a chart and a quick summary so you can dig in without leaving the dashboard.

Compare market instruments

On supported market detail pages, you can add up to 3 comparisons to the main chart.

  • With no comparisons selected, the page keeps the normal single-instrument price chart.
  • Once you add a comparison, the chart switches into Price Return mode so different price levels can be compared fairly over the same period.
  • Supported compare pages include stock/ETF research pages plus ASX, US, FX, commodity, and index detail pages.

For this first version, compare mode uses native quote currency price returns. That means the chart does not FX-normalise returns across currencies.

Latest from Rask

On instrument pages (e.g. indices, FX and commodities), you’ll also see a Latest from Rask section under the chart. This surfaces the newest insights and podcast episodes so you can connect market moves with what we’re publishing.

Searching the database

Use the search bar to find an investment by:

  • Ticker Search: Type a code like VAS or MSFT for an instant match.
  • Company Name: Type “Commonwealth Bank” or “Apple” if you don’t know the ticker.
  • Sector Search: Type “Health” or “Technology” to see popular companies in those industries.

Research pages (charts, research, and your journal)

Clicking any investment opens a dedicated research page. Here you’ll find:

  • Share price charts across multiple timeframes
  • Key stats such as watchers, research coverage, sector, and listing
  • Rask research that summarises the investment in a readable quick-take format
  • Investment Journal so you can add your own thesis in context with the chart and research
  • Track this investment tools such as price alerts and community outlook

Investment journal and community discussion (members only)

On investment research pages, you can:

  • Write private investment journal entries for yourself
  • Share an entry as a community snapshot (visible to other logged-in Rask members)
  • Add images (graphs, screenshots) to help explain your thinking
  • Upvote helpful community notes

The journal is now part of the main page flow:

  • on desktop, the composer opens inline so you can keep the chart, Rask research, and community discussion visible while writing
  • on mobile, the composer opens in a sheet
  • you can choose Private or Share with community before saving
  • there is no minimum word count requirement for sharing

Safety

  • Please avoid posting personal information (contact details, account numbers, etc.).
  • Images you upload into community notes are visible to other logged-in members. For private documents and sensitive files, use the Document vault.
  • Shared entries are snapshots: if you update your private journal entry later, you can share a new snapshot.
